Director Jean Negulesco’s underappreciated classic film noir, THREE STRANGERS, is set to open the 2013 edition of The Arthur Lyons Film Noir Festival on Thursday, May 16th at Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs. This gem from the golden age of Hollywood will be presented in a new 35mm print that was funded by The Film Noir Foundation.
“How can you not savor a movie written by John Huston about mysticism, and a winning lottery ticket, that stars Sydney Greenstreet, Geraldine Fitzgerald and Peter Lorre?" says Festival Producer and Host, Alan K. Rode.
Following the screening, an on-stage discussion is scheduled with author, director and son of Geraldine Fitzgerald, Michael Lindsay Hogg. Michael will be signing his book, Luck and Circumstance: A Coming of Age in Hollywood, New York and Points Beyond in the lobby before and after the screening. “Michael Lindsay Hogg is a superb guest,” Rode continued. “In addition to his Old Hollywood lineage, his storied career as the pioneer of music video with the Rolling Stones and the Beatles along with distinguished direction of myriad film, stage and television productions makes Michael an authentic Show Biz Man for All Seasons!"
Opening night for the annual film noir festival will also include an opening night reception after the screening of THREE STRANGERS. All Access Passes are $125 each, and include the Opening Night Reception.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL: Founded by the late mystery author and Palm Springs community leader Arthur Lyons, this unique festival features an eclectic mixture of landmark and obscure vintage movies from the classic film noir era. Laden with period post war cynicism, these glorious black and white films are laden with suspense, sexuality and crime portrayed from the perspective of the criminals.
Each year, the festival showcases the best of film noir accentuated by a scintillating array of movie stars who appear on stage for post screening Q&A discussions, autographs and book signings.
